| After completing his fellowship in
Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology from University of Texas
Houston, Dr. Tayyab Mohyuddin joined Northwest Houston Heart Center.
He graduated with honors from the King Edward Medical College,
Lahore, Pakistan, later completed his residency in Internal Medicine
at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and also
worked as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Medical College of
Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
Dr. Mohyuddin has published several articles in peer reviewed
journals, two book chapters, and presented his studies at national
and international forums. He has served as a
reviewer for the Journal of American College of Cardiology. He plans
to continue his research work at Northwest Houston Heart Center,
which is enrolled in multiple national & international research
trials. During his fellowship, he was awarded for top performance in
fellowship in-service examination.
Dr. Mohyuddin also brings with him the wealth of experience in
PET scan since he had the opportunity to learn cardiac PET imaging
from Dr. K. Lance Gould, who is the pioneer of this technology.
Northwest Houston Heart Center is one of only three centers in
Houston area, which performs state of the art cardiac PET scan. He
plans to continue to use the PET scan for early detection and
reversal of the atherosclerosis at this facility.
Dr. Mohyuddin did his interventional cardiology training with Dr.
Richard Smalling, who is a nationally renowned interventional
cardiologist. Dr. Mohyuddin specializes in coronary, peripheral
vascular, and structural heart interventions. He has unique
experience and expertise in treating patients with peripheral
vascular diseases, percutaneous repair of the atrial septal defect (ASD),
and patent foramen ovale (PFO).
Dr. Mohyuddin has an exceptional training and
educational background and is eager to become part of the medical
community in the Northwest Houston, and Tomball areas. He is fully
committed to provide the best cardiology care to his patients. He is
in clinic daily to see patients and can take same day appointments.
